As a new class of future Spartan lawyers begins its first week of law school, the MSU College of Law also starts a new chapter in its 129-year history by completing its full integration into the university on Aug. 17, 2020.

Growing the first functioning mini human heart
MSU researchers have created for the first time a miniature human heart model in the laboratory, complete with all primary heart cell types and a functioning structure of chambers and vascular tissue.

MSU researchers have been awarded a $3.75 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research focused on decreasing cardiovascular disease risk morbidity and mortality for minority and low-income populations with diabetes mellitus.
